Remittances on Kazakhstan territory more than halved

The volume of remittances through international systems in Kazakhstan in January-April 2019 amounted to 11.3 billion tenge, which is 55.8 percent less than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to finprom.kz.

The number of transactions decreased to 48, 600 by 53.4 percent.

Last year, Kazakhstan hit a record in the volume of transfers, amount of which reached 72.9 billion tenge. The number of transactions was 294,500.

Compared to 2018, there was an increase of 3.1 times in terms of volume and 31.9 percent in terms of the number of transactions.

A little less than half of the volume of transfers in Kazakhstan accounts for the Golden Crown system: 5.3 billion tenge, which is 29.2 percent less than in January-April 2018.

Faster system occupies the second place: 942.9 million tenge (decrease by 25.8 percent).

Contact system closes the top three with 506 million tenge. It is the only one of the leaders which shows an increase (by 67.3 percent).

Tenge has the largest share of the total volume of sent transfers in terms of currency: the national currency in April 2019 accounted for 58.8 percent.

The second place is occupied by the American dollar: 34.3 percent. In turn, in March the dollar prevailed over tenge: 46.9 percent versus 41.5 percent.

in March, the share of the Russian ruble decreased from 10.1 percent to 5.8 percent, and the euro from 1.5 percent to 1.2 percent.
