The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 806,842 vehicles during first 11 months of 2019, which is 0.7 percent less compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
As of Dec. 1, 2019, total number of passenger cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.7 million cars.
The committee noted that 84.4 percent of registered cars operate on petrol. Some 12.8 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel and 2.7 percent - on diesel fuel.
During the reporting period, the number of registered car accidents amounted to 14,835 cases, which is 4.2 percent more than during the same period of last year, and 21,690 people were injured in these accidents.
As of Dec. 1, 2019, insurance companies made 68,356 payments worth 26.9 billion tenge (approximately $71.1 million) on Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of Vehicle Owners.
