The volume of money transfers from abroad to Georgia constituted $125.9 million in March 2020, Trend reports referring to National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
This is 9 percent ($12.5 million) less than in March 2019.
Some 92.8 percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 16 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding $1 million.
In March 2020, Georgia received money transfers worth $51.73 million from the EU countries, including $17.31 million from Italy, $16.24 million from Greece, $4.94 million from Germany, $3.15 million from Spain, $2.08 million from Poland, $1.67 million from France, $1.54 million from the UK, and $1.08 from Cyprus.
As reported, $25.39 million was sent to Georgia from Russia, $15,10 million from the US, $11.78 million from Israel,$8.27 million from Turkey, $3.61 million from Ukraine, $2.38 million from Azerbaijan, $1.22 million from Kazakhstan and $1.01 from Canada.
In March 2020, $20.4 million was transferred from Georgia, which is 10.1 percent more compared to $18.5 million in March 2019.
