The volume of Azerbaijan's agricultural production in actual prices exceeded 1.4 billion manat ($824 million) from January through April 2020, which is 3.8 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, the Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee.
Over the reporting period, the country’s livestock production increased by 13.5 percent, reaching 994 million manat, and crop production - by 3.2 percent, exceeding 1.3 billion manat, said the committee.
In the first months of 2020, the country produced 171,200 tons of meat, 659.9 million tons of milk, 653.2 billion eggs and 2,300 tons of wool. On annualized basis, Azerbaijan’s meat production increased by 3 percent, milk - by 1.5 percent, eggs - by 9.3 percent, and wool production remained at the same level.
Meanwhile, 43,600 tons of potatoes were grown, showing an increase of 7.3 percent, and 107,000 tons - other vegetables, which is 16.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2020.
