Maximum volume of gold sales noted at Uzbek Commodity Exchange

Some 75 kilograms of precious metal were sold through exchange trading in December 2020 in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (UZEX).

According to the report, the exchange price of gold averaged 615,900 soums ($58.8) per gram.

Earlier it was reported that 145.1 kilograms of gold and silver were sold through the UZEX exchange trading for a total amount of over 6.1 billion soums ($582,283) in 2019.

Last year, 12.6 kilograms of gold worth 5.5 billion soums ($525,009) were sold through the exchange. At the same time, the exchange quotation of gold amounted to 435,200 soums ($41.5) per one gram. Silver sales volume reached 132.5 kilograms in the amount of 605.7 million soums ($57.8). The weighted average price of silver accounted for 4,600 soums ($0.4391) per gram.

It was noted that precious metals began to be sold through the exchange trading of the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange in March 2019.

The starting price for precious metals on the exchange is determined on the basis of the last morning fixing of the London Association of the Precious Metals Market in national currency at the rate of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on the date of the exchange transaction.

The seller of precious metals on the exchange market is JSC Almalyk Mining-Metallurgical Complex, and the buyers are manufacturers of industrial products with processing facilities, as well as manufacturers of jewelry.
