Azerbaijan’s consumer market volume increases

The cost of the sold products and the services rendered in Azerbaijan increased by 1.7 percent from January through June 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

The figure reached 23.3 billion manat ($13.7 billion).

The cost of the sold products and services rendered by business entities in the private sector increased by 1.4 percent compared to the period from January through June 2020 and amounted to 22.4 billion manat ($13.2 billion), 48 percent of which were formed thanks to the activity of individual entrepreneurs.

The State Statistics Committee stressed that in the reporting period, one consumer spent on average 387.7 manat ($228.05) per month or 20.2 manat ($11.9) more in nominal terms compared to the same period of 2020.

The World Bank predicts the growth of the consumer market in Azerbaijan by 3.7 percent in 2021, 3.6 percent in 2022, and 3.5 percent in 2023.
