Azerbaijan records rise in total assets of local banks in 7M2021

The total assets of Azerbaijani banks have increased in the first 7 months of 2021, Trend reports with reference to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the report, this indicator amounted to over 33.6 billion manat ($19.7 billion), which is a growth of 10.4 percent on annual basis.

The biggest part (44.5 percent) in the structure of banks' assets from January through July of this year accounted for the issued loans. This figure increased by 5.4 percent for the year up to 14.9 billion manat ($8.76 billion).

After deducting target reserves, the net volume of issued loans amounted to 13.7 billion manat ($8.05 billion).

The volume of banks' cash increased by 22.1 percent to nearly 1.78 billion manat ($1.04 billion). Investments in securities are estimated at 4.65 billion manat ($2.73 billion), while a year earlier this figure was 3.67 billion manat or $2.16 billion (increasing by 26.6 percent for the year).

Fixed assets increased by 2.4 percent on annual basis and amounted to 753.7 million manat ($443.3 million) in the structure of long-term assets of banks.

Intangible assets increased by 12.5 percent to 146.9 million manat ($86.4 million). Other assets as of early August 2021 were estimated at 2.07 billion manat ($1.21 billion).

The aggregate capital of banks as of early July increased by 2.4 percent and amounted to 4.77 billion manat ($2.8 billion). At the same time, equity capital reached 4.43 billion manat ($2.6 billion), and capital reserves - 333.8 million manat ($196.3 million).
