EBRD expands active portfolio of projects in Azerbaijan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) disclosed the portfolio of projects in Azerbaijan as of early September 2021, Trend reports referring to the EBRD.

According to the bank, the loan portfolio is intended for the implementation of 35 projects and nearly 22 percent of total investment accounts for the private sector.

Most of the projects (78 percent, or 882 million euro) are for investments in sustainable infrastructure, 20 percent, or about 225 million euro - for investments in industry, trade, and agriculture, and two percent, or 20 million euro - for investments in financial institutions.

In general, so far the bank has invested more than 3 billion euro in Azerbaijan on 177 projects.

The EBRD has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1992.

Last year alone, the EBRD, leaving the volume of allocated funds unchanged compared to 2019, invested 17 million euros to implement six projects in Azerbaijan.
