Iran sees increase in tax revenues

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7

The amount of tax revenues in Iran increased by 60 percent, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022) compared to the same period last Iranian year, the head of the Iranian National Tax Administration (INTA), Davoud Manzour told Fars News Agency, Trend reports.

According to Manzour, the amount of tax revenues in Iran for the reporting period amounted to 2.77 quadrillion rials (about $66 billion).

The official added that tax revenues in the country are projected to increase by over 60 percent next Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).

“At the same time, tax payments from legal entities, various professions, and property for 11 months amounted to 1.67 quadrillion rials (about $39.8 billion). This is an increase of 56 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

Manzour also noted that there is value-added tax available in Iran on goods and services. Within 11 months, tax payments from these areas amounted to 1.1 quadrillion rials (about $26.2 billion), which is 68 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.
