Non-resident's deposits in Azerbaijani banks grow

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. The total amount of bank deposits of the Azerbaijani population (including individual businessmen) increased by the end of September 2022, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 11.2 billion manat ($6.6 billion), up by 27.01 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

During the reporting period, bank deposits of the population in foreign currency increased by 14.25 percent – to 4.4 billion manat ($2.5 billion), making up 39.21 percent of all deposits of the population (against 43.59 percent in September 2021).

The volume of deposits of the population in the national currency over the year rose by 36.88 percent, up to 6.8 billion manat ($4 billion), amounting to 60.79 percent of all deposits (against 56.4 percent in September 2021).

As of October 1,2022, the volume of bank deposits of residents reached 10.2 billion manat or $6 billion (growth of 14.9 percent), and non-residents - 954.3 million manat or $561.3 million (up by 3.2 times).

In general, at the end of September 2022, the volume of deposits in banks totaled 33.9 billion manat ($19.9 billion), an increase of 17 percent compared to the end of 2021.
