Turkmenistan discloses total volume of non-cash transactions through terminals

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 31. The total volume of non-cash payments through terminals in Turkmenistan in January this year amounted to 832.92 million Turkmen manat ($238 million), Trend reports.

Data from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan show that these figures in the specified period are 13.2 percent less than in comparison with the same month of 2023, which amounted to 960.37 million Turkmen manat ($274.4 million).

The amount of non-cash payments made through ATMs in the first month of 2024 amounted to 27.33 million Turkmen manat ($7.8 million), which is 30 percent more than in the same month of 2023 (21 million Turkmen manat or $6 million).

Furthermore, the total volume of non-cash payments through terminals in Turkmenistan in 2023 amounted to 15.74 billion Turkmen manat ($4.5 billion), which is 14 percent higher than in 2022, which amounted to 13.8 billion Turkmen manat or $3.94 billion.

Meanwhile, according to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the official exchange rate of the Turkmen manat against the US dollar on March 29, 2024, is set at 3.5 manat per USD.
