The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry will strengthen control over the tariff policy applied by domestic mobile operators, Minister Ali Abbasov said today.
Today, tariffs on mobile services are not regulated by the state, he said.
Operators use the system to obtain greater profits by increasing their service costs, he added.
"This is typical not only for Azerbaijan, but also for many other countries," he said. "However, this process will be taken under control. Of course, they need to make a profit, but it should be controlled by legislation, without showing prejudice against the rights of users."
