Azerbaijan, Baku, May 3 / Trend, H.Veliyev /
An e-digital signature platform has been presented by the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry within the global initiative Microsoft Innovation Day today.
The project is implemented in accordance with the Law "On electronic signature and electronic documents", by the consortium of the companies Ultra, Azerin and the local office of Microsoft.
Azerbaijani Deputy Communications and IT Minister Elmir Velizade said that the center's infrastructure is built based on a Microsoft solution.
Users should submit an identity card, an application to receive the digital signature and a receipt confirming payment of fees to the digital signature issuance center. After applicants receive an approval from the center, they should also receive a notification through the traditional postal service.
To use a digital signature, the user must use a card reader and special software, which can be downloaded from the Internet site e-imza.az. The page provides information about all existing types of e-services.
The main advantage of digital signatures is the full transfer of business relations and ties into an electronic format. The digital signature issuance infrastructure in Azerbaijan is completely ready for operational use.
Azerbaijan plans to use three centers for issuing digital signatures, two of which will serve the public and private entities, and one which will be the head office.
An electronic signature is a sequence of symbols received through the transformation of the source document through special software.
Getting a digital signature ensures the authorship and contents of documents exchanged by an organization through the Internet. It is impossible to forge an e-signature. The documents certified by the digital signature or a signed document are recognized as equivalents.
