A meeting with the management of PayPal online payment system to discuss its full-fledged work in Azerbaijan may be held in the first quarter of this year, Zaur Gardashov, head of the Azexport.az portal, told Trend Feb. 7.
He said the meeting is expected to be held in Azerbaijan.
“A full operation of PayPal in Azerbaijan is most likely to be ensured at the level of partnership with local banks,” he noted. “PayPal doesn’t apply any restrictions regarding the number of partner banks.”
Gardashov said earlier that full-fledged work of PayPal in Azerbaijan will contribute to increase of merchant accounts in banks.
“This, in turn, will affect the increase in tax revenues of the state budget from electronic commerce,” said Gardashov.
