The number of connections to the free Wi-Fi service of Baku Telephone Communications LLC, Azerbaijan’s state communications operator, has reached four million, the company told Trend on March 19.
Work to expand the coverage of the wireless Internet network has been ongoing since March 2017 as part of the project "Public Wi-Fi." The goal of the project is to provide residents and guests of the capital with online access in public spots. In total, free Wi-Fi is available in 18 locations around Baku.
Currently, free internet access is available at the following spots: the territory of the Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve, the National Seaside Park, the Park of the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Narimanov Park (near the Metro station of the same name), the Winter Park, the Officers Park, the Sahil Park, as well as Akhundov park, Sabir park, Khagani, Huseyn Javid, Samed Vurgun, Mugan, Dede Gorgud, Izmir, Fashion Avenue parks.
