Direct flights may open between Ukrainian and Georgian cities, Trend reports citing Georgian media.
As part of his business visit to Ukraine, the governor of the Imereti region, Zviad Shalamberidze, met with the chairman of the Kherson Regional State Administration of Ukraine, Yuri Gusev.
At the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in tourism and business, infrastructure projects, as well as friendly relations between the regions.
Both sides also discussed the issue of opening direct flights between Georgian Kutaisi and Ukrainian Kherson.
The parties decided to draw up an agreement on friendship and cooperation between Kherson and Imereti. The official signing ceremony will be held on May 2, 2020 in Kutaisi.
As Yuri Gusev said, Georgia is an exemplary country in many respects, and its experience in various fields, including winemaking is very important. He added that winemaking in Kherson is at the initial stage of its development.
Shalamberidze invited Gusev together with representatives of local business circles to visit Kutaisi, where the International Business Forum will be held May 3-4, 2020.
In 2019, 207,600 Ukrainians visited Georgia, which is 17.3 percent more than in 2018.
According to data, Ukraine was in 6th place in the number of foreign tourists visiting Georgia. In 2018 number of Ukrainians, visited Georgia, reached 177,000.
