The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 33 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 166,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the first month. So, about 155,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 10,800 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 114,000 tons of cargo were exported and 2,070 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port during the reporting month, the statistics said.

“Within the first month, 442 tons of cargo were loaded and 3,760 tons were unloaded in the port for transit,” the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 40,400 tons of cargo were loaded and 28 tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage in the same month. Also, 127 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,930 tons were unloaded for other purposes.

So, 73,300 tons of essential products, 558 tons of metal products, 31,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 619 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port during the 1st month of the current Iranian year, the statistics said.

“Moreover, 45 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 5,100 tons of container products, 54,200 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded at the port over the mentioned month,” the statistics said.

As reported, more than 11 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 14.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
