Activities in Iran’s Khorramshahr port soar

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshar port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by about 9 percent in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021), compared to the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 181,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the fourth month. Of this, about 164,000 tons were loaded and 17,200 tons were unloaded.

“About 163,000 tons of cargo were exported and 16,700 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.

Also, 340 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as, 539 tons of cargo were loaded and 177 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the fourth month.

According to the statistics, 6,900 tons of essential products, 14,300 tons of metal products, 142,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,020 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 4th month of the current Iranian year.

Some 2,870 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 67 tons of small and assorted goods, 11,800 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fourth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.99 million tons were loaded and 5.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 20.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
