Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation via railways amounted to 5.8 billion tenge ($13.5 million) in January 2022, which is 55.7 percent more than in January 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The number of transported passengers amounted to 1.2 million people the reporting month, which is 21.7 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
The passenger turnover amounted to 1.05 billion passenger-kilometers (pkm) which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 36.1 percent.
Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway transportation amounted to 92.6 billion tenge ($214.4 million) over January 2022, which is 11.3 percent more than during the same period of 2021.
The volume of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage transported via railway during the reporting period amounted to 37.1 million tons, climbing by 10 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Cargo turnover amounted to 27.2 billion ton-kilometers increasing by 17.3 percent compared to last year.
