BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. This week it has become known about a new electronic service of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, which is supposed to simplify the process of importing vehicles into the country.
The mentioned innovation will allow obtaining data on compliance with the Euro-4 environmental standard before importing a vehicle into the country. It will also facilitate border crossing processes, increase transparency in the relevant field, as well as eliminate queues.
Furthermore, the time frame for opening of Azerbaijan's Zangilan International Airport has been revealed. The ceremony is expected to take place in mid-October 2022. President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan would also attend the event.
It has also been reported that Azerbaijan's Land Transport Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport put up four regular intercity bus routes for competition.
Following the terms of the competition, each carrier must have at least two buses of small, medium and large capacity on the Baku-Astara-Baku, Baku-Lankaran-Baku, and Lankaran-Baku-Lankaran routes, and no less than three buses on the Astara-Baku-Astara route. The opening of tender proposals on Baku-Astara-Baku and Astara-Baku-Astara routes will be held on November 24, while the opening of tender packages on Baku-Lankaran-Baku and Lankaran-Baku-Lankaran routes will take place on November 25.
