BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 4.68 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
Approximately 76.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port for the last Iranian year. Of that, about 41.1 million tons were loaded and 35.1 million tons were unloaded.
So, 35.1 million tons of cargo were exported and about 10.9 million tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port during the last year.
About 1.93 million tons of cargo were loaded and 4.41 million tons were unloaded at the port for transit in the last Iranian year, as well as 2.42 million tons of cargo were loaded and 17.8 million tons were unloaded for cabotage.
Furthermore, 1.58 million tons of cargo were loaded and 1.53 million tons were unloaded at this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 24,200 tons of cargo were loaded, and about 483,000 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Some 2.43 million tons of essential products, 6.96 million tons of metal products, approximately 12.6 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 51,000 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port over the last Iranian year.
Moreover, 1.47 million tons of chemicals, 84,200 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 417,000 tons of small and assorted products, 21.4 million tons of container products, and about 30.7 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
Overall, approximately 152 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports over the last Iranian year. Of that, about 80 million tons were loaded and 71.7 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
