Turkmeninstan's airports in Lebap region serve large number of passengers

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 4. Turkmenistan's international airports in the Lebap region served 163,425 passengers from January through July this year, Trend reports.

According to official data, during the specified period, Turkmenabat International Airport served 129,020 passengers and Kerki International Airport 34,405 passengers.

These figures are significantly higher than those for the same period last year.

Furthermore, in the first 7 months of this year, 542 tons of cargo were transported through Turkmenabat International Airport, and 115 tons were transported through Kerki International Airport.

Meanwhile, Turkmenabat Airport was opened in 2018 and Kerki Airport in 2021.

The development of airports in Turkmenistan in recent years has been observed within the framework of the strategic plan for the modernization and expansion of air transport infrastructure in the country. Turkmenistan is striving to improve its capabilities in the field of air transportation, providing more efficient and comfortable passenger and cargo services.
