Kazakhstan sees slight increase in coal production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 13

Kazakhstan produced and imported 10.6 million tons of coal in October 2021, which is 1.6 percent more than in October 2020 and by 3.3 percent more than in September 2021, Trend reports on Jan. 13 with reference to the statistics data of Kazakhstan.

Moreover, Kazakhstan produced and imported 93.09 million tons of coal during the 10 months of 2021, which is 1.3 percent more than in the same period of 2020.

Some 10.5 million tons of coal were produced in Kazakhstan in October 2021 (an increase of 3.7 percent compared to October 2020 and 1.7 percent compared to September 2021), while 57,800 tons of coal were imported (an increase of 41 percent and decrease of 1 percent, respectively).

Kazakhstan exported 26.5 million tons of coal during the 10 months of 2021 (an increase of 11.7 percent compared to the same period of 2020). Some 66.5 million tons of coal were sold on the domestic market during the reporting period (a decrease of 2.3 percent).
