BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. The production volume of coal amounted to 9.03 million tons in Kazakhstan in July 2022, Trend reports via the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan.

According to the bureau, this figure is 2.2 percent more than in July 2021, and 9.3 percent more than in June 2022.

In the first seven months of this year, coal production in Kazakhstan equaled 66.3 million tons, up by 5.2 percent on annual basis.

The country imported 29,000 tons of coal in July 2022, which is 53.2 percent more than in July 2021, and 54.7 percent more in monthly terms. Kazakh coal imports amounted to 285,900 tons from January through July 2022, down by 18.4 percent compared to 7M2021.

In July 2022, Kazakhstan exported 3.05 million tons of coal, which is 19.2 percent more than in the same month of last year and 9.1 percent more than in June 2022.

Kazakh coal exports amounted to 20.9 million tons in the first seven months of 2022, which is a growth of 18.2 percent in annual terms.

The bureau also noted that 6.01 million tons of coal were sold on the domestic market of Kazakhstan in July 2022, which is 4.7 percent less than in July 2021 and 9.4 percent less than in June 2022.

The sale of coal in the Kazakh domestic market amounted to 45.7 million tons from January through July 2022, which is 0.2 percent more than the same period last year.
