BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Kazakhstan attracted $14.5 billion in foreign direct investments in the first half of the year, Kazakhstan Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said, Trend reports citing the press service of the PM.

This constitutes an increase of 28 percent, compared to the 6M2021, he said.

Smailov said that Kazakhstan is working to relocate foreign enterprises to the country. As of today, 19 companies have completely relocated to Kazakhstan.

The PM added that by the end of the current year, a total of 190 projects with an overall value of 2 trillion Kazakh tenge ($4.2 billion) will be put into operation, which will create 18,500 jobs.

During the next seven years Kazakhstan expects to attract $150 billion worth of FDI.

Smailov stated that the government is working with a nationwide pool of 850 investment projects worth 30 trillion Kazakh tenge ($63.5 billion). Successful implementation of these projects will open 131,000 new jobs.
