BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the UK in 2022 totaled $1.8 billion, Roman Vasilenko, Deputy FM of Kazakhstan, said at a joint press conference with James Cleverly, UK Foreign Secretary, held in Astana today, Trend reports.
He noted that the volume of trade between the two countries over the past year increased by 58.7 percent year-on-year.
"The UK is one of Kazakhstan's key trade and economic partners, having invested more than $16 billion in our economy," he said.
Vasilenko added that, as of today, about 550 companies, joint ventures and representative offices with the participation of the UK capital are registered in Kazakhstan, covering almost all sectors of the economy.
"Cooperation with the UK is an important priority in Kazakhstan's multi-vector foreign policy. This is a strategic partnership. For more than 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, constructive political interaction has been established and effective platforms for bilateral cooperation have been created, such as Strategic Dialogue, the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, and the Business Council," he added.
