Azerbaijan exports petroleum coke worth over $1.3M to Kazakhstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Azerbaijan exported 3,348 tons of petroleum coke worth over $1.37 million to Kazakhstan from January through April 2023, Trend reports.

According to Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee, in April 2023, Azerbaijan exported 412.29 tons of petroleum coke to Kazakhstan, which is 4.1 times less than in March (1.691 tons). Meanwhile, the value of exported tons equaled $169,030, which constitutes a 75.6 percent decrease compared to March ($693,540).

Azerbaijan started to export petroleum coke to Kazakhstan in February this year. As such, the amount of exported petroleum coke in February totaled 1,244 tons worth $510,300.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 100,484 tons of petroleum coke worth $35 million, which constitutes a year-over-year growth of 77 percent and 3.3 times respectively.

Overall, from January through April 2023, Azerbaijan exported about 9.236 million tons of oil and petroleum products, which is 2.6 percent less than in the previous year (9.5 million tons). The total value of oil exports amounted to more than $5.7 billion, which is 12.7 percent, or $829,564 less than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan imported fuel and energy products worth $582 million from January through April 2023.
