ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 27. Kazakhstan has received two new oil tankers purchased from Abu Dhabi Ports Group (ADP), Trend reports.

KazMunayGas JSC (KMG, Kazakhstan's national oil and gas business) and ADP partnered to purchase oil tankers. The joint venture Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions Ltd, whose shareholders are Kazmortransflot LLP (a subsidiary of KMG) and International Maritime Investments Ltd (a subsidiary of ADP), owns the new tankers with a deadweight of 8,000 tons.

The oil tankers were constructed at Damen's shipyard in the Netherlands. The tankers are 140 meters long, 16.7 meters wide, 4.2 meters deep, and 10 knots fast.

Tankers are equipped with advanced control systems, have high technical characteristics and modern equipment. Tankers comply with all international safety standards and environmental requirements.

The new tankers are scheduled to enter service in December 2023. They will be involved in transporting Kazakh oil across the Caspian Sea.

In March 2023, shipments of Kazakh oil began along the Aktau-Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan route in an annual volume of 1.5 million tons. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan transport oil on a parity basis along the Aktau-Baku sea route.

New tankers will make it possible to fully cover the obligations of the Kazakh side to transport 750,000 tons of oil per year.
