BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The value of trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan decreased in the first quarter of 2022, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the committee, the value of trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan from January through March 2022 amounted to $100.4 million, which is a slight decrease of 3.3 percent compared to the same period of 2021 ($103.9 million).

The share of Uzbekistan in the total trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 4.8 percent.

Uzbekistan exported to Kyrgyzstan goods worth $56.1 million from January through March 2022, which is a decrease of 7.8 percent compared to the same period of 2021 ($60.9 million).

However, Kyrgyzstan’s exports to Uzbekistan in the reporting period amounted to $44.3 million, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to $43 million in the same period of 2021.

Kyrgyzstan's total value of foreign trade turnover increased by 50 percent from January through March 2022 compared to the same period last year - from $2.1 billion to $1.4 billion.
