BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 28. Kyrgyzstan imported 52,742 passenger cars from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, this figure reflects an increase of 3.8 times compared to the same period in 2022, when only 13,868 passenger cars were imported.
The value of these car imports amounted to $669.8 million, showcasing a growth of 6.8 times compared to the $3.8 million worth of imports in January to May 2022.

These numbers indicate a notable increase in Kyrgyzstan's demand for passenger cars from various countries, with South Korea, the United States, China, Japan, and Russia being the prominent exporters during this period.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's overall trade turnover totaled approximately $5.162 billion from January through May 2023, an increase of 27.9 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
The country's exports amounted to $879.106 million (an increase of 21.9 percent year-on-year), while imports made up $4.283 billion (an increase of 29.2 percent).
