BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 11. The World Bank expects a gradual decrease in inflation in Kyrgyzstan for 2024–2026, Trend reports.
According to the forecast, inflation in Kyrgyzstan in 2024 will be 8.4 percent, compared with 10.8 percent in 2023.
Furthermore, the bank notes that inflation will continue to decline to 7 percent in 2025 and to 5.5 percent in 2026.
"Assuming the central bank maintains a prudent monetary stance and global food and fuel prices remain stable, inflation is projected to decline to within the target range of 5 to 7 percent by the end of 2024 and remain stable in the medium term," the bank notes.
Meanwhile, the Asian Development Bank updated its inflation forecast in Kyrgyzstan today. Kyrgyzstan's inflation is expected to reach 7 percent in 2024 and then decrease to 6.5 percent in 2025, according to the ADB.
ADB also noted that the inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan decreased to 10.8 percent in 2023 from 13.9 percent in 2022.
