Turkmenistan has increased its electricity exports from January through September 2021 by 34.5 percent compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports on Oct.9 citing ORIENT news agency.
The issue was discussed at a meeting of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers.
Electricity production in Turkmenistan in the first nine months of this year grew by 11.6 percent on annual basis.
This year Turkmenistan began exporting electricity to Kyrgyzstan and until December, it plans to export 501.9 million kilowatt-hours to the country.
As earlier reported, Turkmenistan intends to bring electricity production to 34.2 billion kilowatt-hours by 2025.
