BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9. The British Embassy in Turkmenistan and UNDP held a meeting with representatives of the Turkmen Government to exchange information on climate change, Trend reports with reference to the British Embassy in Turkmenistan.

The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation and continue the established dialogue in support of the efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan to fulfill its obligations in the field of climate change under the Paris Agreement and the Glasgow Climate Pact.

The parties discussed Turkmenistan's recently adopted Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), national greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets, as well as the Turkmen Government’s climate change priorities.

At the same time, they exchanged information on the work carried out after the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) and discussed preparations for the upcoming conference (COP27), which will be held in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh in November 2022.
