BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. Turkmenistan has significantly increased the volume of greenhouse tomato exports to foreign countries, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
According to the information, Turkmenistan has exported 80,000 tons of greenhouse tomatoes since the beginning of 2022, which is 50 percent more than the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan plans to export another 15,000-20,000 tons of tomatoes to foreign countries by the end of the year.
Exports greenhouse tomatoes of the country go to such countries as Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. Last year, a batch of Turkmen tomatoes was sent to Dubai (UAE) for the first time.
Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
