BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 15. Turkmenistan and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) discuss the development of partnership in the transition to a digital system for customs operations, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan

These issues were discussed during a meeting of representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan with the head of the regional project "Digitalization of TIR operations in the Central Asian transit corridors to strengthen regional cooperation and trade" of the GIZ Fesilitas Zik during the visit of the organization's delegation to Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed further steps to be taken within the framework of Turkmenistan's transition to a digital system for declaring goods, which is used in international road transport.

They noted that the system is aimed at reducing the time of customs clearance, eliminating personal contacts between representatives of the declarant and customs, as well as introducing the principle of "one window".

Among the main advantages of this system, the parties noted the minimization of a number of redundant operations related to the verification of documents in paper form, the reconciliation of electronic and paper copies of documents, as well as high reliability.
