BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 3. Turkmenistan imported chemical industry products worth 17.08 million euros from the EU countries from January through February 2023, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
According to the information, these figures in the reporting period are 1.7 times more than in the first two months of last year (9.75 million euros).
According to the statistical office, in February 2023 Turkmenistan imported chemical industry products from EU countries in the amount of 8.74 million euros, which is 4.8 percent, or 400,000 euros more than in January 2023 (8.34 million euros).
Furthermore, Turkmenistan reduced imports of goods from EU countries by 10.02 percent from January through February this year compared to the first two months of 2022 (91.54 million euros) to 82.36 million euros.
Turkmenistan's imports from EU countries last year amounted to 608.85 million euros, which is 27.5 percent less than in 2021 (840.05 million euros).
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the EU countries from January through February 2023 amounted to over 118.36 million euros, which is 27.3 percent less than the same period last year (162.86 million euros).
