ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 15. The Buyan agro-industrial complex, located in the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan, produced raw materials for medicines in the amount of 12.79 million Turkmen manats ($3.66 million) from January through July of this year, Trend reports.
During this period, the enterprise produced 1,687 tons of licorice root and 773 tons of its extract.
At the same time, 569 tons of licorice root extract and 4,110 tons of other raw materials were exported during the corresponding period.
In general, the Buyan agro-industrial complex harvested 19,000 tons of raw licorice root last year and produced 2,963 tons of refined and packaged products, as well as about 680 tons of dry extract and 610 tons of thick licorice root extract.
Turkmenistan invests heavily in the formation of modern industrial infrastructure, which contributes both to the comprehensive development of the regions and to the economic prosperity of the country as a whole.
