The QR Code Technology used by tourists will be presented in Uzbekistan for the first time, the State Committee for Tourism Development said in a message.
QR code is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode). A barcode is a machine-readable optical label that contains information about the item to which it is attached.
A tourist will be able to get all information about Uzbekistan’s sights via smartphone in 12 languages in a few seconds as part of this project.
The tourists will also get information about hotels, restaurants, art galleries and other architectural and historical monuments.
A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed among Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Tourism Development, the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Tehno Dargoh LLC to launch the practical stage of the project.
The jointly implemented project was named "VERUM QR". It is aimed at promoting the image of Uzbekistan in the international tourism market as a country of SMART tourism and the active use of IT technologies for the convenience of tourists.
