BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Uzbekistan has imported 269,000 tons of potatoes from 13 countries in amount of $46.8 million from January through April 2022,Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
The volume of imports of potatoes increased by 38,300 tons compared to the corresponding period last year.
During this period, most of the potatoes were imported from Pakistan in the amount of 211,300 tons, followed by Kazakhstan (22,400 tons), Russia (14,400 tons), Kyrgyzstan (8,800 tons), Iran (5,600 tons).
Uzbekistan has imported 560,000 tons of potatoes in 2021, which is an increase of 109,100 tons compared to 2020. In 2021, Uzbekistan has imported potatoes in the amount of $72.8 million from 13 foreign countries.
