BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. The volume of deposits of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 195.5 trillion soums ($17.7 billion) from January through July, 2022, which is an increase of 51.8 percent compared to the same period last year (128.7 trillion soums or $11.7 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.
For the corresponding period, state-owned banks’ deposits accounted for 130 trillion soums ($11.8 billion), while private banks’ deposits accounted for 65.5 trillion soums ($5.9 billion).
The volume of bank loans in Uzbekistan from January through July 2022 increased by 14.4 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (302.7 trillion soums, or $27.4 billion), reaching 346.4 trillion soums ($31.4 billion).
During this period, the loans of state banks amounted to 290.6 trillion soums ($26.3 billion).
At the same time, the loans of private banks reached 55.7 trillion soums ($5 billion).
