BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Uzbekistan and China decreased the bilateral trade turnover by 3.01 percent from January through February 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, from $1.33 billion to $1.37 billion, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
Uzbekistan’s imports from China amounted to $1.14 billion, which is 9.4 percent more than during the reporting period in 2022 ($1.04 billion).
At the same time, the exports from Uzbekistan to China in the reporting period decreased by 43.3 percent and amounted to $183.6 million over $324.1 million in 2M2022.
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan exported to China some 19,500 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $14.7 million, textile products worth $53.6 million, etc.
In 2022, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China amounted to $8.9 billion, up by 19.7 percent, compared to 2021 ($7.4 billion). Export from Uzbekistan to China in this period amounted to about $2.5 billion, while imports - were $6.4 billion.
Meanwhile, from January through February 2023 Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).
