BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Latvia's business is eager to increase cooperation with Uzbekistan, Georgijs Vojevoda, Head of the newly created representative office of Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) in Uzbekistan, said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at the meeting with Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia Kadambay Sultanov.
The sides discussed the prospects for trade-investment and technological cooperation increase between the two countries.
Vojevoda noted the growing interest of Latvian business in promising cooperation with Uzbekistan, manifested by the decision to open a representative office of LIAA in Tashkent.
The Latvia side identified pharmaceuticals, information and communication technologies, textile industry, agriculture, production of food products, as the most promising areas for cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the agenda of the forthcoming bilateral meetings at various levels.
Latvia ranked 8th among the main trade partners of Uzbekistan in 2022, with turnover reaching 11.4 million euros, the Eurostat data says.
