Deputy Foreign Minister said Iran won't attend Geneva meeting on Syria adding that success of any meeting on Syria depends on the presence and active participation of its government and all effective sides, IRNA reported.

Deputy Foreign Minister said Iran won't attend Geneva meeting on Syria adding that success of any meeting on Syria depends on the presence and active participation of its government and all effective sides, IRNA reported.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Friday, Hossein Amir-Abdullahian underlined necessity of being realistic concerning current situation in Syria and added that Iran will welcome presence or participation in any kind of meeting with constructive achievements for solving Syrian problem and in direction of helping Syrian people in the framework of Kofi Annan plan.

He underlined that it is not possible to take decision for Syrian people and government from outside or write a military and security prescription for them and added that a number of measures and primary talks about Geneva meeting indicated special goals to defeat Annan plan.

Criticizing function of a number of alien powers, continuation of foreign interference and support for terrorist acts, Amir-Abdullahian stressed that Iran has declared clear stances on support for Syrian people, reform plan of President Assad, political efforts of Kofi Annan, necessity of ceasing dispatch of weapons and not supporting terrorist acts in Syria.
