(www.cihannews.com) вЂ" Turkey lost 1-0 to Black Sea neighbors Georgia in a friendly after a late goal from Siradze gave Georgia their first ever win over Turkish side.

Turkish national football team faced Georgia in an away game in Tbilisi ahead of two crucial matches in EURO 2008 qualifiers to be played in late March. But it was an unpleasant rehearsal as the visitors could not convert chances they found into goals.

Home side had its first chance in the 36th minute, forcing Turkish goalkeeper Volkan to punch Kverkvelia's curling free kick from 25 meters. In another attempt, Burduli's free kick from the right hit the crossbar four minutes from the half time. Turkey's Sabri replied with a 25-meter shota minute later, but it was blocked by Georgia's keeper Revishvili, reports Trend.

The visitors missed their best scoring opportunity in the 51st minute. Substitute Gokdeniz stole the ball from a defender near the box and found himself one-on-one with replacement goalkeeper Lomaia, who left the goal to narrow the angle and intercepted the ball.

Siradze headed a corner into the net 15 minutes from time to gave his team the first ever win in their fourth encounter.

The friendly was a preparation for Euro 2008 qualifiers on March 24, when Group C leaders Turkey will travel to Athens face second-placed Greece.
