Iran exports over 1.1M tons of cement and clinker in one month

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran exported 1.174 million metric tons of cement and clinker in the first month of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-April 20, 2015), according to Iran's Cement Industry Employers Association.
Exports of cement and clinker dropped by 28,461 metric tons compared to the same month last year, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on May 11.
The report added that 917,937 metric tons of cement and 229,123 metric tons of clinker were exported in the mentioned period.
Iran exported 18.942 million metric tons of cement and clinker in the past Iranian fiscal year, a one percent rise year on year.
Iran currently exports cement to 24 countries including Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Oman, India, and China.
Seven countries out of the mentioned 24 accounted for 97 per cent of Iran's total cement exports.
Iraq with 63 percent, Azerbaijan with 4 per cent, and Turkmenistan with 7 percent were the main importers of Iranian cement.
Iran produced over 61 million metric tons of cement and 64 million metric tons of clinker in the past fiscal year.
