By Khalid Kazimov -- Trend:

Five wells in the Tangeh Bijar Gas Field in western Iran have been shut down for repair and maintenance.

The repair and maintenance operations are intended to ready the wells for winter operation, CEO of West Iran Oil and Gas Production Company Said Nasseripour said.

He added as these wells are shut down, the Ilam Refinery is also getting ready for major repair operations, IRNA news agency reported Sept. 8.

The field's gas goes as feed to the Ilam Refinery some 70 kilometers away. He added the maintenance operations would start in three days and last for one month.

The Tangeh Bijan Gas Field's output is 7 million cubic meters per year, meeting part of western Iran's demand for gas.
