The average price of Iranian major oil type, heavy crude oil, stood at $38.14 between January 1 to December 2, Iran’s Oil Ministry’s OPEC and Energy Associations Department reported Dec.12.

According to the report, Iran’s light oil export price also reached $40.12 per barrel during the mentioned period.

The report didn’t mention the volume of oil export, but according to estimation of Reuters, Iran exported about 1.578 million barrels per day (mb/d) to Asian markets in 10 months.

On the other hand, according to Turkish Energy Market Regulatory, the country imported about 110,000 b/d of Iranian oil in Jan-Sep. The figure is expected to remain unchanged in 4Q16.

According to Eurostat’s latest statistics, Iran also exported 130,000 b/d of oil to EU during January-August. No new statistics was published for Sep-Nov.

It seems, Iran’s average oil export has reached around 1.8-1.9 mb/d during 2016, about 0.3-0.4 mb/d less than the 2011 average, before imposing western sanctions on Iran, which led to falling the country’s total oil export to about 1 mb/d. Sanctions on Tehran were eliminated in January 2016.

Iran also exported above 0.4 mb/d of gas condensate as well as the same amount of oil products during Jan-Nov 2016, according to official statistics.
