Japan’s Hitachi company signed a preliminary agreement with Iran’s Bid Boland gas refinery, in Khuzestan Province, for the supply of necessary equipment.
Under the signed Letter of Intent, the Japanese firm will provide the refinery with compressors and vapor recovery unit (VRU) as well as storage facilities, Mehr news agency reported July 4.
Mahmoud Aminnejad, the managing director of the Bid Boland gas refinery company, said that the refinery’s construction is completed by 50 percent.
The project consists of Bid Boland II Gas Refinery, feed and product pipelines, and export terminal in Mahshahr (including storage facilities), Aminnejad added.
The gas refinery will produce 48 mcm/d of methane as well 1.5 million tons per year of ethane and 1.5 million tons per year of LPG, once completed.
