Abdolnaser Hemmati, the head of the Central Insurance of Iran, has said that a large part of investment projects in the country have not been covered by insurance.
The industry regulator told the rolling news TV channel IRINN that there is about $3 trillion hidden risks in large investment projects which need to be covered by insurance.
However, only one third of this amount has been insured which means $1 trillion.
Iranian insurance industry witnessed a hike of 20 percent over the first half of the current fiscal year (started March 20) compared to the same period of time last year.
The total income of the insurance companies over the mentioned period reached $5 billion (166 trillion rials)
