Iran Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution Management Co. (TAVANIR) announced that according to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, electricity generated by generating units will be purchased at a guaranteed purchase rate of 0.09 dollars per kilowatt-hour.
According to the Tavanir news website on Monday, the company announced that in order to increase electricity generation by emergency and ready-to-operate generators, Tavanir Company will purchase the electricity generated by generating units at mentioned guaranteed purchase rate, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Tavanir noted that the required fuel (needed for electricity generation) is provided by the Ministry of Oil.
Tavanir invited all natural and legal persons who have the facilities to generate electricity to be part of this plan.
According to IRNA, more than 20,000 MW has been added to the generation capacity of the country's national electricity network in the last 8 years,
Of this capacity, 12,650 MW has been generated by the construction of large new thermal power plants with an investment of more than 7 billion Euros, as well as more than 2,500 MW by improving the practical capacity of existing power plants, 2,200 MW through Hydropower plants., 1750 MW through distributed generators and about 900 MW has been added to the country's electricity generation capacity with the construction of renewable power plants.
